About Us

Source Bakery is a woman owned & operated business that is based on the North Shore in Massachusetts.  We currently operate out of a shared kitchen space, and our hoping to open our first brick & mortar soon.

Everything we do at Source is handmade, from scratch. Our flavors are influenced by the seasons & whatever we are able to source (get it?!) week to week. We are best known for our Hand Pies & Biscuits. Other customer favorites include our Chocolate Chip Cookies and people line up for our Apple Cider Donuts each fall.  

 At Source, we are committed to using fresh & local ingredients in all that we do. Working with other small businesses has been a huge part of our success so far. We believe that a rising tide lifts all boats, and when we support the community around us, we can all grow stronger together.

Our Story... 

Source Bakery was opened by Julie White in 2019, after many years of working in restaurants, bakeries & cafes. Julie felt moved to open a business that's primary focus was to work in harmony with the local agriculture of New England and build relationships with the community around her. 

Shortly after embarking on this adventure, the stars aligned & Ashley Barnett joined the team as Head Baker. Ashley's experience baking in restaurants in the Boston area added immensely to the Source Bakery team and things began to really take off.

Over the past three years, we have attended farmers' markets in Beverly, Salem, Gloucester and Cambridge. During the winters, we pop up at many local breweries, coffee shops and run home delivery routes whenever possible!
